About Capilano Rugby Club

Welcome to Capilano Rugby Club – Where Rugby is for Everyone!

Whether you're new to rugby or a seasoned player, Capilano Rugby Club offers a supportive, fun, and inclusive environment for all ages. Located at beautiful Klahanie Park in West Vancouver, we run programs for youth, minis, and adults, with a focus on development, teamwork, and community spirit.

🏉 Mini & Youth Rugby Programs (Ages 4–17)

Our Mini and Youth rugby programs run from September to May, welcoming players of all experience levels.

Minis Program (Ages 4–12)

  • Start Date: Sunday, September 14
  • Age Groups: U6, U8, U10, U12 (based on birth year in September)
  • Practice Times:
    • Sundays at 10:00 AM (all ages)
    • Wednesdays at 6:00 PM (U12 only)
  • Location: Klahanie Park
  • Format: Non-contact flag rugby for younger ages, gradually introducing contact, structure, and rules up to U12.
  • Season Break: December to late February (weather dependent)
  • Registration Fee (2024/25): $295 for U6–U10, $325 for U12

Jambourees

Minis also participate in friendly, local jambouree tournaments 6–8 times per year, playing short games against other Metro Vancouver clubs. Jambourees are festive and family-friendly — expect hot dogs, coffee, and even pancakes at our clubhouse on home days!

Youth Program (Ages 12–18)

  • Start Date: Week of September 1
  • Age Groups: U14, U16, U18 for boys and girls (in two-year bands)
  • Practice Times:
    • Boys: Monday & Wednesday evenings
    • Girls: U14/U16 on Monday & Wednesday (U18 TBD)
  • Game Days: Sundays
  • Registration Fee (2024/25): $325

Fall & Spring Seasons

  • Fall: Sevens Series in September → 15s League (October–December)
  • Spring: Exhibition games (U14s typically), followed by Provincial Regional Championships (PRCs) and the North West Rugby Cup in July — great opportunities for elite-level scouting.

Team Flexibility

Girls often combine with Meralomas and Squamish clubs for game days to ensure strong team numbers. Players may play up or down an age group based on experience and development.
