Capilano U14 Championships (Boys win Gold and Girls win Bronze)
Back to all posts ›The regional U14 championships have wrapped up and the Capilano U-14 boys won Gold with the U-14 girls winning bronze.
Below are some comments provided by the team coaches - well done to these aspiring rugby players on a great season!
U-14 Boys Final
Great final game between Capilano and Bayside at klahanie (November 27th 2022) with 2 teams playing some great rugby.
You did not want to miss the kick off! Capilano took rapidly the lead in the first 5 minutes with our fly half Tryton and one of the wings Felipe. Our forwards were strong and scored a try with Clive after that. Bayside finished strong the 1st half with a try and half time score was 21-7 for Caps.
Bayside keep pushing at the beginning of the 2nd half and scored quickly. Lucas, our full back, released the pressure with 3 big run from his 22 to seal the victory. One last try from Bayside did not change the outcome and our boys won 42-21!
Well done Caps! What a game!
U-14 Girls Final
This team calls themselves Sasquatch to be inclusive to all players as they are a combination of Caps, Squamish Axemen, and Meraloma's players. They all played their best games so far, with passing and well executed plays that involved the whole team and resulted in many different players scoring ties.
From Squamish coach Jack Compton.
"Congratulations to all our Sasquatches on a glorious season. Watching Ash streak down the middle and Holly burst through the line was a wonderful way to finish. We are all so proud of the culture you have built and the skills you have developed. You are a rugby team now!!"
